It is believed that the first Cidadelhe population is located at the top of the hill, where you can find a rock in shape of a head, located in front of Saint Amaro´s Church. In this village we have some historical and important monuments, characterized by the amazing architecture such as Saint Amaro´s Church, Saint Sebastião and Saint Barbara´s Chapels. We also have the Calvary, the first image that we can find in the village. The houses are in a homogeneous architecture, predominantly in rock and granite. The population also recognizes the court building! It is assumed that the old inhabitants of the village took justice in to their own hands.
